This song was written in a moment of desperation for God to reveal Himself to me. I was feeling very low and was crying out for Jesus to come close and communicate His presence to me. As it turns out, praying honest, desperate prayers is a very scriptural thing to do.

This song is just another of thousands of songs written sense the time of King David that simply expresses love to God. Special thanks to Bryan Taylor for playing brushes and to Tommy Emmanuel for inspiring me to learn how to play with a thumb pick!

Recently, I've been reading Randy Alcorn’s wonderful book called Happiness. The premise is that God wants us to be overflowing with hope, joy, peace, and over the top happiness… that’s right, Happiness! Not because He’s going to give us everything we want or make our lives problem free, but because within Himself is the fountain of life.

My inspiration for this song is the Hallelujah Chorus! My hope is to remind us and declare once again that at the end of the age, God wins! Eternal victory is His (and ours!) which is why we repeat over and over again “And He shall reign forever and ever!” If you feel hopeless in your life or discouraged by the injustices you see around you, take heart, Jesus has overcome.

This song is taken from Jesus’s first recorded miracle in the Bible (John 2:1-11) where He turned water into wine. One thing I love about this story is that God chose a party to be the setting in which he would perform His first miracle.

One of the things I have always loved about my wife Robin is her love for the Bible. Give her a cup of coffee and God’s Word and she can just drink it in for hours. Here’s a verse that makes me think of her.
