This song is simply a way of declaring and giving thanks that the God of the universe isn’t just "a" God, or "the" God, but that He is "my" God! Our God is not a higher power or a force in the heavens somewhere out there, but He is the Holy, Living God, and the only God who invites me to cry out and say, “Abba Father.”

Very special thanks to David Cole for the beautiful illustrations that accompany this song. David and his wife Emily share God’s heart for loving children and taking them to Jesus. They serve and mentor kids in our church family and are in the process of adopting their foster son.

This song came after my experience attending an evening at the Bethel worship conference here in L.A. last spring. The lyrics here are taken from Isaiah 6 which gives us one of the most beautiful and sobering glimpses of the glory and awesomeness of our God. Something else I love about this passage is that it is a worship experience ending with Isaiah being sent out to the people.

One Sunday morning at the end of our worship, I felt stopped in God’s presence. I was deeply stirred by the God who is ever calling us away to that eternal place with Him. This song was conceived in that moment. May we respond to the stirrings God is putting in our hearts for Him today.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.

Isn’t it true that when we worship God in a real way, we always walk away being reminded that He is even greater than we had thought? This song is just another attempt to help us celebrate His unfathomable greatness. And one more thing - His greatness and limitless power are at work within us!
