I had the privilege of growing up in a revival called The Jesus Movement. One of the hallmarks of this revival was the expectation & hope that Jesus would return any day. Toward the end of the gospel of Matthew, chapter 24, we’re warned that people are going about their lives with no awareness or urgency that the second coming of Jesus is near.

Matthew 18:2-4 instructs us that in order to enter God’s kingdom we must become like a child. Imagine, the Holy God of the universe, whom we often imagine as only somber all the time, wants us to approach Him with the simple faith, humility, love, and joy of a child! I love this thought and did my best to communicate it in this song.

This song is a finger-style guitar waltz written from the book of Isaiah, chapter 43. Here, God is speaking directly to his people, assuring and comforting them and us with declarations of who He is, what He has done, and what He will do. He calls us by name, calls us His own and is the God who will walk with us through our greatest struggles.
